Allianz owned Petplan has announced a new partnership with Pets at Home.The move adds retail to Petplan’s extensive distribution network and enables Pets at Home to strengthen its insurance proposition for customers.

The partnership sees the UK’s largest pet insurance provider team up with the UK’s No.1 specialist pet retailer and from 10th November Pets at Home will be recommending Petplan insurance to its customers. Benefits include a unique 5% online discount and free Pets at Home gift vouchers for dogs, cats and rabbits.

In addition, around 40,000 existing Pets at Home insurance customers will be invited to renew their policy onto a new Pets at Home product underwritten by Allianz. It’s estimated that in 2017 the partnership will deliver an additional £21million in GWP across both migrated and new customers.

Simon McGinn, General Manager Commercial and Personal at Allianz commented: “Petplan has been leading the pet insurance market for the last 40 years and this exciting move into the retail sector demonstrates our continuing ambition to grow both the number of insured pets in the UK and Petplan’s market share.”

We are delighted to be working with the UK’s No. 1 pet insurance provider.”
