Allianz Commercial has today announced the appointment of Alex Stuart as regional manager of its new trading region in the UK – North West & Scotland.

Alex’s promotion comes as Colin Kennedy, Allianz Commercial’s regional manager for Scotland, announces his retirement from the business on 31 December 2015, after 16 years. Colin joined Allianz in 1999 and during that time has also held the position of regional manager for the North before returning to Scotland in 2012.

Andrew Broughton, director of broker markets, Allianz Commercial, commented: “Colin has been instrumental to the success of our Commercial business in Scotland. He’s incredibly well respected in the market and it’s no doubt thanks to his expertise that our team in Scotland has established Allianz as such a large and profitable player in the region.’

Colin Kennedy added: "I have had 16 fantastic years at Allianz. I'm delighted that I was able to come back to Scotland and spend some time in my home market where my Allianz career began. I can't think of anyone better to take over the leadership of Scotland than Alex."

In his new role, Alex Stuart will now have responsibility for Allianz’s branches in both Scotland and Manchester, which combined will form the Company’s new North West & Scotland trading region. He moves into the new role from his current position of regional manager in Manchester.

Andrew Broughton added: “I’m delighted that Alex will be widening his role to take on this new key position as we create one region in the North West & Scotland. I believe his appointment will ensure continuity within our business as he is well known amongst Scottish brokers and has a great knowledge of the region.’
